After days of unseasonable heat, the capital expected temperatures from 15C to 21C on September 1. Inmet warned of up to 50mm of daily rain, 60km/h gusts and possible hail, while Civil Defence flagged stronger winds across several parts of the state.
Civil Defence keeps the alert in force through 19 August, with temperatures up to 7°C above normal and humidity below 30% across much of the state. In the western half it may fall below 20%, raising wildfire and respiratory risks.
An injunction requires the São Paulo municipality and Samae to stop discharges immediately, correct operational failures and submit a comprehensive plan within 60 days. Effluent and waterway tests must be published monthly until at least 3 August 2027.
