Tingi Tindahan revived small-quantity retail in Malabon using reused containers for food and cleaning products without throwaway plastic. The model combines lower prices with waste prevention, but organizers say corporate responsibility and enforcement remain essential.
Independent tests examine adhesives, labels, closures and other components that can enable or obstruct recycling. The milestone comes before August 12, when the EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation will generally begin to apply.
The company kept global single-use plastic delivery packaging at 74,073 metric tons. A shift to paper reduced plastic's presence in North American shipments, but total weight remained flat and disclosure gaps persist on product packaging and actual recyclability.
