The 2026 Recycling Leaders Forum consolidated Mexico as a key player in the transition towards a circular economy in Latin America. With the new General Law on Circular Economy as the regulatory framework, the event brought together representatives from ECOCE, PETSTAR, Arca Continental, and the Monterrey Institute of Technology, who agreed that recycling has ceased to be an environmental trend to become a structural strategy for competitiveness, investment, and economic development.
A pilot promoted by the Inter-American Development Bank at Brazil's CIMVI consortium showed how digital technologies can improve waste sorting, reduce rejects and strengthen the circular economy with accurate information for decision-making.
